The course aims to: a) present an overview of the main concepts of energy and environmental economics and policy, b) offer the student a conceptual paradigm that enables the economic interpretation of energy and environmental phenomena, c) stimulate the students' critical reflection.

The course has two main focuses: energy economics, environmental economics. The former introduces the basic concepts of the energy sector and analyzes its historical evolution, identifying the causes and effects of the oil shocks and counter-shocks. Moreover, energy markets regulation is deepened.
The second one deals with environmental damages and policy instruments used to cope with them.
